Networking: “the activity of meeting people who might be useful to know, especially in your job”
You may need to pre-teach some of this vocabulary, depending on the level of the class e.g. introverts, follow-up meeting, connections and senior.
It’s important to demonstrate this game before they start properly. On a piece of paper, write a simple question and answer such as “Where are you from?” “I’m from Nottingham” or “Do you like cats?” “Yes, but I prefer dogs”. Tell students you will say the answer to the question and that they must guess the question.
Make it clear that while different questions they suggest may be appropriate and grammatically correct, to win the point they have to say exactly what is written on the card. If the class is stronger, they can play in pairs or smaller groups, but with weaker classes keep the teams larger.
Check in advance the links are working. If not, find an alternative. Make sure students take a photo/have access to the next slide so they have the links. If there is time at the end of the lesson, have a look at LinkedIn together and highlight the different sections on a profile.
